Dudley's Jamie Ball will finally be able to launch his professional boxing career this month after he was given the all clear by the Boxing Board of Control.
Ball was all set to make his debut last month but his hopes were dashed at the last minute after he was unable to get his medical certificate through in time.
The 23-year-old has now had his licence granted and just can't wait to get into the ring at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Friday June 20.
He said: "It was really disappointing to have the fight called off last month but there was just nothing we could do about it.
"I was equally disappointed for my supporters because 300 of them had snapped up tickets.
"It wasn't enjoyable when I had to go and tell them all the fight was off but they understood it was out of my control.
"I took a few days off after it was clear the paperwork would not come through in time just to clear my head and now I'm just raring to go.
"I feel fitter and stronger than last time and I just can't wait to get in there."
The welterweight will also have his uncle and trainer, Shaun Cooper, in his corner after he received his professional qualifications.
His debut fight will see him go head to head with the experienced Peter Dunn.
The 111-fight veteran has been in the ring with the likes of Young Mutley, Colin Lynes, Gary Woolcombe and Matthew Hatton so Ball is expecting to learn a lot from the experience.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling Jamie on 07511619880.
