Hi, I’m Richard Nevin.

From the formative years of Star Soccer, Test Match Special and Pro-Celebrity Golf to attending some of the biggest sporting events in the country, our varied and fascinating pastimes have held me in their intriguing grip.

A season ticket holder at one of our local football clubs for twenty years, manager of a local Sunday league football side for considerably less, frustrated golfer and obsessive sports follower, my ultimate failure to become a star striker or devastating fast bowler lead me to sit down and write about the games I enjoyed so much.

From Brummie to adopted Black Country boy, from the last day of the Millennium Open at St Andrews to the desperation of the bunkers at Hill Top, from limited overs cricket in the street with friends to the Saturday of a test at Edgbaston, it’s all a thrill to me and will continue to be so while I can watch and write.
