Entries have been flooding in for a community-focused film competition that is offering a top prize of £1,000.

Property specialist Leaders is running its Love living in video competition for a second year following its successful debut in 2015. Love living in asks people to create a short video of no more than three minutes that shows exactly why they love their hometown.

The film-maker who is judged to have created the best video will win £1,000 plus an additional £1,000 for a community group* of their choice. There are also prizes of £500 plus £500 for a community group for the young person who produces the best film and the winner of a People’s Choice award decided by social media views and shares.

Allison Thompson, managing director at Leaders, says: “Everybody has a different reason for choosing to live in their village, town or city. Love living in allows us to experience the most special places across the country through the eyes of the people who love them the most.

“Most people own a smartphone or tablet so it is easy to get outdoors and shoot a few minutes of film that captures the beauty, culture or spirit of a particular location.

“This competition is designed to allow people to show off the very best of their communities, so it is fitting that community institutions - such as schools, sports clubs and voluntary groups - will benefit from the prizes.”

Love living in 2016 opened on 1st July and a number of videos have already been received. The deadline for entries is 16th September and winners will be announced by 30th September.
