A STOURBRIDGE pub is getting set for a week-long festival featuring top names from the Midlands’ music scene.
Katie Fitzgerald’s on Enville Street has lined up around 40 acts for a mammoth event at the end of the month.
Katiesfest 2008 kicks off on Saturday August 23 with an Acoustic Brew special featuring Mezzotonic, Dan Hartland, Mellow Peaches, Alex Moir, Iam Locutus and Aquilla.
Among many highlights during the fest will be shows from The Wonder Stuff’s Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls on Wednesday August 27 plus a set from bluesman Ian Parker the following day.
Katiesfest will also offer visitors a chance to sample a wide range of real ales from around the region including brews from Holdens, Ma Pardoes and Sadlers.
The event will set the tone for a much larger Katiesfest at Stourbridge Rugby Club in May next year, which will feature a major name to be announced next month.
Eddy Morton, from Katie Fitzgerald’s, said: “We can’t wait for it to get going, there will be something for everybody.
“We are trying to support a lot of young bands which is also what we are going to do at the Rugby Club and the 2008 fest will be a taster for that.”
