FANS of Faye are set for a big autumn with a debut album release to back up their new single.

The five-piece is among the best of the Stourbridge bands born in the current century and, after establishing themselves on the Midlands' live music scene, they are ready to go national.

Named in tribute to a close friend killed in a car crash, Fans of Faye released the first single from their debut album, Designed to Be, on September 3.

The single is called Paint the Sun and marked the start of a campaign to take the band's profile to the next level with an extensive UK tour and appearances on Kerrang Radio, Absolute Radio and Total Rock.

The single has already been challenging for a top 20 slot on the iTunes rock chart and singer Zachary Hart says the band was overwhelmed by its success.

He said: "Just a massive thank you to everyone who bought it really. We've been in this band a long time so to see the response that we're having, especially locally is heart warming.

"The feedback we've had so far from the single release has been amazing so we just hope it carries through to the album release in November."

Fans of Faye will be playing live at The Flapper in Birmingham on Friday September 21 and performing an acoustic set at Katie Fitzgerald's in Stourbridge on Friday September 28.
