Sinbad to sail into Netherton

THE Young Ones are getting set to stage a lavish panto with a nautical flavour later this month.

The group of young performers will be bringing popular pantomime Sinbad the Sailor to life at Netherton Arts Centre, Northfield Road, Netherton, from Saturday January 19 to Saturday January 26.

Starring seasoned panto star Mike Bradley as the dame, Mrs O'Malley, Grant Chapman as Sinbad and Claire Martin (last seen as Ado Annie in Tab's Oklahoma) as the princess - the show sees Sinbad braving storms, shipwrecks and monsters as he travels the globe.

Producer and choreographer Audree Henwood said the group's president - stage and screen star Josie Lawrence - hopes to attend one of the performances, if work commitments allow.

Evening shows start at 7.15pm and there will be matinees starting at 2.15pm on Saturday January 19, Sunday January 20 and Saturday January 26.

Tickets cost £5.75 for all shows except January 22 (which cost £6.50?) and they are available from the ticket secretary Chris Sykes on 01384 895266.
