Choral society announce latest concert

STOURBRIDGE Choral and Orchestral Society's next concert takes place at Holy Trinity Church, Amblecote, on March 1.

Starting at 7pm, the event will also feature the choir of Amblecote Primary School and Peter's Hill School instrumental ensembles.

The orchestra will be playing Dvorak's energetic Slavonic dances, and the choir will be singing some European madrigals.

Stourbridge Choral and Orchestral Society was formed in 1884 and has been going strong ever since. Members rehearse at the Mere Road Centre, Norton, on Mondays (orchestra) and Tuesdays (choir) at 7.30pm. The orchestra is always looking for new players, especially for brass and strings, and the choir for singers.

Tickets for the latest show cost £6 for adults, £2.50 for the over 12s and free for children.

They are available on the door, from Books Unlimited in Lower High Street, Stourbridge, or by calling 01384 376468 or from Amblecote Junior School or Peter's Hill School.

For more information about the choir check out website www.stourcos.org.uk
