Folk club on move

A popular Kingswinford folk club is moving venues after nearly four decades at its Mount Pleasant home.

The Woodman Folk Club has been at The Woodman Inn for 37 years but the pub has closed.

On Friday April 4 the club will kick off events at their new base, at The Ashwood Social Club, Ashwood Lower Lane, Kingswinford, with a Singers Night.

Club spokesman Trevor Durden said: "While the closure of The Woodman has been on the cards, its demise has come earlier than anticipated."

"The social club is in a pleasant canal side location with excellent facilities.

"The policy of the folk club will remain unchanged, with top line guests being augmented by high quality resident artists."
