ROCKERS Aura are heading for a Stourbridge show and bringing some new friends from the continent with them.

The Worcestershire based four-piece, who have already made a big impact in their short career, recently completed a tour of Germany, France, Belgium and Holland.

They are now set for a gig tomorrow (Thursday March 6) at the Rock Cafe 2000, Mill Race Lane, where they will be sharing the stage with Dutch bands The Locomotiv Collectiv and The Holy Stoned.

The band's foreign trip was the first stage of an ambitious plan by Worcestershire Arts Education to develop their Battle of the Bands competition in to a Europe-wide event for 2009.

Fred Mallinson, from Worcestershire Arts Education, said: "Thankfully, we have been supported and sponsored by many within the music industry such as Laney, Tama, Vans and Kerrang who have helped create such a great opportunity for our local young bands to get the help and experience they deserve."

Aura, who play a mix of original songs and covers from the 60s and 70s, could become a leading light in British rock and blues.

They have already supported Status Quo, recently completed a five-track EP with top producer Gavin Monoghan and are set for shows with Velvet Revolver, whose line-up includes Guns N Roses guitarist Slash.
