BASSMAN Chris Bevington got a little help from some well-known friends for a new album of blues classics.

The Staffordshire musician was recently on stage at the Robin 2 in Bilston supporting Reverend Peyton and his Big Damn Band and Chris will be back to headline the same venue on Sunday August 3.

The band and album share the same name, Chris Bevington and Friends, and both are a combination of a host of talents including drummer Paul Burgess of 10CC and guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick from rock band FM.

The results appear pleasing to the ears of critics, Blues in Britain said: “What a brilliantly put together album and what class musicianship. It's an album you can put on again and again and not be bored, the variety of the content is superb.”

Chris Bevington himself says the making the album had little to do with money and fame but simply for the joy of the music.

He said: “I actually love my CD of tunes, every track, every stop and start, for sheer musical delight and fun I have had a ball. I want nothing back from it and nor believe I should, no money or recognition - just a warm happy feeling.”

Support at the Robin 2 show comes from Scott Towns, for more information visit www.therobin.co.uk
