HOLLYWOOD action hero Steven Seagal swapped the big screen for a Black Country music venue this week as part of a mini UK tour with his blues band.

The Under Siege star packed out the Robin 2 in Bilston when he stopped off for a two-night run on Monday and Tuesday.

More than 500 fans turned out on both nights for a chance to see the 62-year-old actor turned blues musician in the flesh.

But sporting a goatee beard and yellow shades and with his trademark pony tail hidden under a headscarf and Panama hat, which he kept firmly on all night despite pleas to remove it from some of his female fans, he was barely recognisable.

He also engaged little with the excited crowd at the Mount Pleasant music club.

But, as with his movies, action speaks louder than words and the star preferred to let his music do the talking.

His vocals, however, were for the most part sidelined as Seagal indulged his lifelong love affair with the blues by showing off some pretty smooth guitar mastery.

Relaxed and at ease on stage at the intimate music venue, which he sold out back in 2007 while promoting his acclaimed second album Mojo Priest, the soulful star who is also a real life police deputy with his own reality TV show effortlessly mesmerised loyal supporters throughout his 90-minute set on Tuesday.

While accomplished members of his all-star blues band provided quality back-up.

Xander and the Peace Pirates, residents at Liverpool's famous Cavern Club, also deserve credit for a spectacular support slot ahead of the main man's appearance.

Robin 2 owner Mike Hamblett said Seagal arrived late on both nights, leaving fans queuing round the block, but he once again proved a hit with gig goers - some of whom had travelled from overseas to see him.

The movie star, who was this week reportedly dropped from the line-up of an Estonian music festival over his support for Russian president Vladimir Putin, winds up his short tour at London's Clapham Grand this Friday (July 25).
