AREA 11 call their sound "gaijin rock" - a fusion of pop-punk, metal, prog and glam, fortified by a major obsession with anime, video games, and Japanese comics.

The four-piece band, who hail from Bristol, have been existing 'under the radar' but have still amassed the kind of social media following that would put many artists to shame.

They are currently in the middle of their biggest tour to date, following the release of their latest offering, 'Modern Synthesis', which charted at number 27 in the UK Official Album Chart.

The band's lead vocalist, Sparkles, said: "We're really excited to get back on tour, especially now that people have had the album for enough time to know the songs well. We're expecting a bit of a sing along!"

The band will be supported by Fort Hope and Boy Jumps Ship for the gig at Asylum 2, Birmingham, on Wednesday, December 14.

Tickets cost £11 and can be booked online at www.theasylumvenue.co.uk.
