SINGING has done the power of good as a Stourbridge choir leader celebrates her groups playing their part in raising more than £90,000 for charity since they first started in 2010.

Spanning the Midlands, Got 2 Sing choir singers and founder Beth Dunn, never need an excuse to do a little fundraising – be it for national charities such as ‘Children in Need’ or in supporting local causes at their many ‘sing outs’ or concerts.

In the past seven years, more than £90,000 has been raised for various charities, with money being donated locally to Mary Steven’s Hospice and Stourbridge Victim Support.

Beth, who runs Stourbridge’s Got 2 Sing choir, which meets weekly at Gigmill Primary School, said: “We’re always encouraging new people to join the choir by shouting out the benefits that singing brings to people’s lives, however we can now mean it in the literal sense too.

“I’m delighted that we have achieved over £90,000 for various charities – I’m sure the monies raised will have brought real benefits to many.”

The charitable theme continues into 2017, with Got 2 Sing supporting Worcester Breast Unit Haven at their Birmingham Symphony Hall concert in September.

If you want to join the group and help raise money for local causes, Beth is holding a free ‘open rehearsal’ on Thursday, January 19, between 7.30pm and 9pm at the Norton-based school’s junior hall.
