A SERIES of rock nights are heading to Brierley Hill Civic Hall this year with the first event taking place tomorrow night (Friday, April 7).

Dudley CVS Charity and Ultimate Entertainments are continuing the themed nights that are becoming bigger with every event.

Ultimate’s Andy Tain said: “We know the Black Country loves its rock and is missing a truly major night.

“This is the first of four premier nights this year all with one of the UK’s leading Rock DJ’s ‘Dodge’ – The Winking Man’s main DJ.

“With Ultimate’s usual gusto, we are using dual video screens and full lightshow to make the most of this fantastic venue.”

The civic is run by the charity Dudley CVS and all bar takings go straight to the cause which supports, promotes and develops voluntary action across the borough.

James Challis, from Dudley CVS, said: “It looks like the start of another fantastic event to run alongside the Motown and regular Decades nights that are proving a hit right here in Brierley Hill.

“I know Ultimate have wanted a Rock Night from the very beginning but we have had to establish the venue first over the last 12 months, and 2017 is the year that we Rock The Civic!”

DJ ‘Dodge’ will cover classic rock from the golden age right up to the current rock scene and every decade in-between.

The DJ said: “I love rock, in all its incarnations. Whether it’s classic Zeppelin, Purple, AC/DC or modern classic bands like Korn, 5 Finger Death Punch, or Metallica, I get though mostly everything within the night.

“Whatever the crowd want, I tend to give them, with interest.

“Our night at The Winking Man is now one of the UK’s ‘must go to’ nights, and I’m hoping the Ultimate nights at The Civic replicate that very soon.”
