A STOURBRIDGE music shop owner is hosting a UK launch party for a Californian guitar brand - which he hopes will pull in a few pounds for mental health charity MIND.

James Gascoigne, who runs James’ Home of Tone - a guitar shop specialising in unique boutique and handmade items from the USA and Canada, is hosting the event at the River Rooms on Sunday November 5.

Doors open 6pm and people will have chance to check out the new Prisma Guitars from San Francisco, USA, which have never before been available in the UK, ahead of an evening of live music.

Much-loved Stourbridge band Of Kings and Captains will be among the bands taking to the stage from 7.45pm.

Owen Lister from Dorset will also be performing and The Charley Hicks Band from Manchester is also on the bill.

James, who runs his business from home and a showroom in Wollaston, said: "It’s all intended to be a nice relaxed and fun way to celebrate the brand coming to the UK, whilst raising money for a cause that means a lot to myself."

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to MIND.

The evening is expected to run until 10pm.

Tickets cost £4 and can be bought online from www.homeoftone.co.uk or on the door on the night.
