Rebel Wilson has hinted that she might be strapping on a proton pack for Ghostbusters 3.

The Pitch Perfect actress has been rumoured to be up for a part in the all-female third instalment of the franchise, and she has now confirmed on America’s Today Show that she has met with its director Paul Feig, who she previously worked with on Bridesmaids.

“I have had a meeting. But who knows? They will have to look at the script when it’s finished,” she told host Matt Lauer.

Rebel admitted she would jump at the chance to be in the follow up to the much-loved 80s films.

“I would even do that without the money truck. I’d do that for free. I probably shouldn’t say that live on TV,” she said.

The actress would be in good company if she does join the cast, with speculation that Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence could be getting on board after also meeting with The Heat director Paul.

And Bill Murray, who played Dr Peter Venkman in the films, has already tipped Paul’s former collaborators – Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig – for roles in the reboot.

Paul has said that the reboot will honour the original story while being “scarier” and “cooler”.
