Kevin Costner has spoken of his sadness about Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition – as a family lawyer denied that she’d ever been married to partner Nick Gordon.
Actor Kevin gave a moving speech at Whitney Houston’s funeral after the pair starred together in 1992 movie The Bodyguard.
Whitney, who battled drug addiction, died after she was found unresponsive in a hotel bathtub in 2012.
Now her 21-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, whose dad is RnB singer Bobby Brown, is fighting for her life after being found face down in her bath.
Asked about hearing the news, Kevin told People magazine: “I was sad, obviously. That family’s under a lot of stress right now, just an enormous amount of stress.”
He admitted that he hadn’t spoken to Bobbi in “a little while” but told People: “I really hope she’s OK.”
Bobbi was found unresponsive in the bath at her home by Nick Gordon, 23 – who was thought to be her husband – and a friend who the police have identified as her ex Max Lomas, 24.
But a lawyer representing Bobby Brown dismissed reports that Bobbi and Nick were ever legally married.
Bobbi is still in hospital where the swelling on her brain has reduced and she is said to be able to move her eyes.
The family recently released a statement, saying: “Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family.
“As her father already stated, we are asking you to honour our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”
Whitney left her entire estate to her daughter.
