J-Lo is known for being a tough-as-nails chick from the Bronx, but even she has bad days.
The singer admitted her divorce from Marc Anthony was “the hardest thing” she has every been through because of her children.
Jennifer, who has twins Max and Emme with Marc, confessed “the pain hurt so much” but she “wanted to come out of it stronger than before”.
The duo, both of Puerto Rican heritage, married in 2004 after years of knowing each other, and announced their split in 2011.
Asked if she felt she has recovered from the divorce, Lopez told The Sunday Mirror’s Notebook magazine: “Back then the pain hurt so much, but I didn’t want what happened to finish me.
“I wanted to come out of it stronger than before. I’d say it was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through, because of the kids.
“When you’re this little scrappy girl and things happen, you just cry yourself to sleep. But when you’re responsible for two other human beings and their lives and emotional well-being, that’s a biggie.”
Jenny from the Block had previously been married twice before to Ojani Noa and Chris Judd, was engaged to Ben Affleck and was in a high-profile relationship with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
J-Lo sure didn’t let her romance woes get her down this Valentine’s Day as she shared an adorable snap of her two children, captioning it: “My funny Valentines!!! HAPPY VALENTINES DAY everybody!!! #LOVE #loveisallthatmatters #truelove.”
