Singer Ella Henderson’s thoughts are with her father after he was charged with fraud, her spokesman has said.
Sean Henderson, 49, from Tetney, Lincolnshire, faces seven charges relating to fraud, theft and money laundering, after he and his wife Michelle were arrested in April 2013 after their home was raided by police.
Mrs Henderson has been released without charge.
The former X Factor contestant has issued a statement which claimed it was a “difficult time” for her family.
A spokesman for the singer said: “Due to legal reasons, Ella Henderson has been advised not to discuss the ongoing proceedings involving her father.
“However Ella’s thoughts are, of course, with her father at this difficult time for her and her family.”
Three further people have been charged with related offences and a fifth will be charged later this week, Humberside Police said.
A force spokesman said: “A 49-year-old man from Tetney has today been charged with seven offences relating to fraud, theft and money laundering. He has been released on bail to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday July 8.
“Three other people have also been charged today with related offences and a fifth will be charged later this week.”
Ella, who appeared in the X Factor in 2012, has enjoyed success with best-selling singles Ghost and Glow and her number one album Chapter One.
The singer-songwriter has recently been touring with Take That and will embark on her own headlining tour later this year.
