He may be one of the favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing, but Peter Andre thinks there’s “no way” he will win the show.

The Mysterious Girl singer, 42, and his professional partner Janette Manrara have topped the leader board on a couple of occasions, and earned two 10s for their Charleston.

Talking to the Radio Times, Peter explained that if it’s down to technical ability, he won’t be polishing the winner’s glitterball trophy.

He said: “If it comes to technical ability, there’s no way. I’ll never get my foot that way, my shoulder this way… If they based it on performance, I could go really far.

“But I know my limits. I’m not the best singer, I’m not the best dancer…”

Previously married to glamour model and businesswoman Katie Price, who he met during a stint in the jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, he recently tied the knot with 26-year-old doctor, Emily MacDonagh.

He has two children – Princess and Junior – from his marriage to Katie, and he and Emily have a daughter, Amelia, who was born in January 2014.

The star rubbished the idea of the “Strictly Curse”, which has seen marriages and relationships ruined when celebrities fall for their professional dance partners.

He said: “I don’t believe in the curse of Strictly. If you wanna go off with someone, you’re gonna do it. (Calling it) that is stirring the pot.”

As much as he says “you could live in that bubble if you wanted to. And I love it, and I appreciate it”, he has also promised his wife he will head straight home after each show.

He recently discovered his father, Savvas Andrea, was sold as a slave aged 11 in Cyprus, Greece.

“There were 13 kids. And they had no food, no money. So some of the kids had to be sold to earn money for the family,” he explained, “And then Dad came back after years. I didn’t know this until recently. And I said, ‘Dad, are you serious?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, but son, that was our life.”

Peter said his father has been a source of inspiration for him, adding: “He came to London not being able to speak a word of English, learnt a trade – he became a barber – and he still owns a barber’s shop in Paddington.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday November 21 at 6.50pm.
