IT is the final traditional Sunday night jazz session of the year in Halesowen this weekend and it marks a return to the town for Martin Bennett.
Well known on the European scene having spent the last twenty years touring, Martin will bring his Old Green River Band to Halesowen Cricket Club on Sunday (March 25).
Although medical problems forced him to give up playing trombone, he has reconstructed his career on the keyboard, keeping vocals as part of the programme.
Martin has now put together a group of musicians to form the Old Green River Band, a mix of old heads and young blood, all with the shared intention of playing top class music.
Trevor Jones, club organiser, said: “Having Martin here, who has played in all the major clubs and festivals from Norway to the Canaries, we are hoping for a bumper turn-out for our final session.”
The event runs from 8pm until 10.30pm and admission on the door costs £5.
