Billy Bob Thornton has revealed he wants another TV role - and he'd love a part in The Big Bang Theory.

The 58-year-old actor has earned an Emmy award nomination for his role as dark stranger Lorne Malvo in Fargo, the TV adaptation of the Coen brothers' 1996 film of the same name.

Billy Bob revealed in an interview at the Emmy Performers Peer Group party in Beverly Hills, which was posted on the Television Academy's Instagram account, that he enjoyed working on the small screen so much he wants to do more.

Asked what show he'd like to have a role in, Billy said: " The Big Bang Theory, I love that show, I think it's hilarious."

The Bad Santa star revealed he'd like to play "a guy who steals Penny [Kaley Cuoco] away" on the CBS comedy, and admitted he is a massive fan.

He said: "I started getting into all these characters, I've started talking to the television. I'll say, 'Cool it, Sheldon [Jim Parsons], could you lighten up?' It's like, the girl's trying, you know what I mean.

Billy Bob also revealed he likes Game of Thrones, and would like to play simple-minded servant Hodor's cousin in the fantasy series.
