Britain’s Got Talent winner Richard Jones is to make a guest appearance in West End magic show Impossible.

Lance Corporal Jones was the first magician to win the ITV talent show, with an act that told the story of 97-year-old Second World War veteran and former prisoner of war Fergus Anckorn.

For his next trick, the Household Cavalry bandsman will perform at the Noel Coward Theatre from July 8 to August 27.

Richard said: “The past few weeks have been such a whirlwind! It is truly a dream come true to have won Britain’s Got Talent and now to be joining Impossible, in the heart of the West End, with such brilliant magicians… It is something I have always dreamt of.”

The West End magic show features illusionists from all over the world, including mind-reading specialist Chris Cox, who audiences may recognise from BBC Three’s Killer Magic, and daredevil and escapologist Jonathan Goodwin, who appeared in Channel 4′s Dirty Tricks.

The show’s producer, Jamie Hendry, said he was delighted to welcome Richard as a guest star.

“Having watched him wow the judges and audiences on Britain’s Got Talent, I knew he’d be a wonderful addition to our show and I’m delighted to make his dreams come true by casting him in a starring role in the West End!” he said.

Richard made an appearance in the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations at the weekend. He played the trombone during the Trooping the Colour ceremony while on horseback.

Mr Anckorn watched on as a member of the crowd celebrating the monarch’s milestone. He is also a magician and is the longest-serving member of the Magic Circle.
