Martin Roberts said he felt “peace had descended” in the I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! jungle following the departure of Larry Lamb.
Homes Under the Hammer presenter Roberts clashed with ex-EastEnders star Lamb on numerous occasions in the jungle.
During a chat with Olympian Sam Quek, Roberts admitted that he’d never felt “accepted” by Larry, who was the sixth contestant to be voted out of the jungle.
Sam commented: “The group gravitated to you as well.”
Martin agreed, saying Lamb “probably felt a bit jealous about that as well.”
He added: ”I gave him a wide berth and let him just be himself and accept that he didn’t really enjoy me being here.”
Talking later in the privacy of the Bush Telegraph, he said he felt a peace in the camp he had not experienced before, but commented that “no-one else would say that”.
Soap star Adam Thomas drew the short straw against footballer Wayne Bridge to compete in the day’s Bushtucker Trial titled Knickerbocker Gory.
The trial, his ninth so far, saw him lowered into a large clear dessert glass and joined by a range of critters. The actor was surrounded by 90,000 jungle nasties by the end of the trial in his bid to earn the six stars on offer.
Arriving back at camp, Adam, who was given the moniker Mr Bushtucker Trial from presenters Ant and Dec, played a prank on his camp-mates telling them he’d only won two stars instead of the six he had bagged.
The contestants were also informed they had to stage a performance in the jungle called A Jungle Tail – The Musical.
The musical spectacular saw them telling their jungle story which included singing performances from Joel Dommett and Adam.
The camp numbers will be reduced by two with a double elimination on Thursday night.
I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! returns on Saturday at 9.30pm on ITV.
