FAMILIES can relive the times the ruthless Romans, savage Saxons and vicious Vikings stormed ashore on the coast of Britain and the gruesome Greeks competed in the first ever Olympic Games with the new Horrible Histories stage shows.

Birmingham Stage Company will return to Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre with two shows - The Incredible Invaders and The Groovy Greeks.

Elliot Fitzpatrick, who stars in both shows, said: "There are four of us in the show and in the Incredible Invaders for instance we muddle our way through Roman times up until William the Conqueror and we do out best to play as many different parts as possible.

"In Groovy Greeks, we try to incorporate as much of Greek history as possible, we go right up to the Spartans. We’ve got a nice bit in there called Gods Have Talent, it’s a spoof Britain’s Got Talent but I play a Rock God version of Zeus, doing a rock number, it’s a lot of fun."

Writer and director Neal Foster added: "Both shows feature special amazing 3D effects that provide a spectacular way for both children and adults to enter these extraordinary historical periods.”

Horrible Histories perform The Groovy Greeks and The Incredible Invaders at separate performances between March 2 and 5.
