THE sounds of the 60s will get the Black Country swinging as hit jukebox musical Shout! heads to the region this weekend.

Shout! The Mod Musical, a fun and frivolous show that tracks five groovy girls as they come of age during those liberating days, will be performed at Rowley Learning Campus on Friday (July 29) and Saturday (July 30).

The fun-filled musical, a blend of foot-stomping songs, eye-popping fashions and psychedelic dancing, uses letters to an advice columnist, true confessions, quizzes, and advertisements as the basis for new arrangements of chart-topping hits as To Sir With Love, Downtown, You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, Son of A Preacher Man, and Goldfinger.

Join new amateur theatre company Third From The Right Productions on their debut production as they take the audience on a non-stop journey through the infectious and soulful pop anthems and ballads that made household names of stars like Petula Clark, Cilla Black, Dusty Springfield and Lulu.

The Black Country-based company were formed with the sole aim of bringing high quality, lesser-known musical theatre and dramatic works to a wider audience.

Jez Luckins, founder member and artistic director, said: “We are all passionate about the performing arts.

“Our aim is to provide an environment for like-minded individuals, where such works can be produced, while at the same time also encouraging original creativity and nurturing local talent.”

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm each evening, with an additional 2.30pm matinee performance on Saturday, cost £12 and can be bought by calling 07908 346841 or visiting www.shout2016.co.uk.
