FOLLOWING phenomenal success of Footloose in 2014 and 42nd Street in 2015, the New Alexandra Theatre’s annual Stage Experience is back.

This year’s amateur production, featuring the West Midlands’ most talented young performers hungry for a taste of life in professional musical theatre, will see Grease being performed until Saturday (August 20).

So grab your leather jackets and get ready to hand-jive as the country’s favourite musical returns to the region at 7.30pm each evening, and a 2.30pm matinee show on Saturday.

Join the T-Birds and Pink Ladies at Rydell High as Danny and Sandy fall in love all over again. Set to an amazing score of unforgettable hit songs including You’re the One That I Want, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Sandy, Greased Lightnin’ and many more.

Stage Experience is open to anyone aged between nine and 24 and able to commit two weeks of their summer holiday to putting on a musical.

The group has been spending the past fortnight working alongside an industry professional director, choreographer and musical director to mount a full-scale production.

Their preparation has culminated in five fully-staged performances at Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre complete with a professional orchestra, set, lighting, sound and costumes.

Tickets, costing between £15 and £22, can be bought online at www.atgtickets.com/birmingham or by calling the box office on 0844 871 3011.
