BLACK Country comedy act The Fizzogs proved they have much more to give on top of their famous Dancing Grannies routine when they took to the stage with their latest sketch show.

The fun original trio have been been on something of a rollercoaster ever since a video of their hilarious Grannies routine went viral on Facebook following an appearance at Stourbridge Carnival in 2014.

But their brilliantly choreographed, perfectly-timed, high-energy performance as cardigan-clad geriatrics gyrating to latest pop hits is just one of their many party tricks.

Their latest stage show Suck it and See sees Sue Hawkins, Deb Nicholls and Jacky Fellows poking fun at all sorts - from weight loss classes to legendary 70s pop group Abba to classic adverts from the 1980s and 90s.

The trio, whose appearances at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival have earned rave reviews, raised giggles as sparring husband and wife magicians Mr and Mrs Cadrabra who carry on their act while having a domestic. They also sparkled in their high-spirited 'schoolchildren in a talent show’ routine.

But their animated Cheaters and Eaters slimming club sketch and Faba routine - in which they don Black Country flag wrap dresses as they spoof Fernando by singing about going for a Nando’s - were among the highlights of the show which stopped off at Bromsgrove’s Artrix Theatre on Saturday March 11.

The Dancing Grannies, of course, remain jaw-droppingly funny - but they are equally as amusing without the outrageous dance routines.

Reminiscent of Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse’s Old Gits sketch - the Grannies are rib-ticklingly comical as Lettie, Hilda and May, both on stage and in a series of video clip send ups of classic adverts for the likes of Milk Tray, Levi’s, Hamlet cigars and Diet Coke (watch below).

Performances between the sketches by Black Country rock and roller turned comedian Jonny Cole also had the audience in stitches - especially his uninhibited comedy renditions of George Michael’s Faith and The Beatles’ She Loves You.

The final stop off on the Suck it and See tour will be at The Swan Theatre, Worcester, on Friday March 24 for Fizzogs fans who have not yet seen it.

After that the gang will next be back on stage in June and July when they will be presenting their Black Country Fairytale at theatres across the region.
