Backlogs of bank holiday rubbish are set to be a thing of the past for Dudley residents thanks to new waste collection plans.
Collection services will now take place across the borough on all bank holidays, starting with the Whit Bank Holiday Monday on May 26.
As part of the new scheme collections will also be held on Easter Monday, May Day, August Bank Holiday and Good Friday. The only days collections will not be held is during the Christmas and New Year period.
Matt Williams, assistant director of the urban environment, said: "This really is a significant improvement in the service we area able to offer and we're sure it will be welcomed by all residents who receive collections on these days."
Residents are reminded to leave their bags out from 6am on the morning of collection.
THE leader of Dudley Council claims town residents have been given a “smack in the teeth” after a planning inspector granted permission for the £18 million mosque and community training and enterprise centre.
POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of large ornamental eagle from the former university halls of residence in the town.
STAFF at Dudley College are breathing a huge sigh of relief after Ofsted inspectors rated them as being ‘good’ after its latest inspection.
