TWO Brierley Hill teenagers have been killed in an horrific road smash in Stourport at the weekend.

The crash, which has also left a 20-year-old Stourbridge man seriously injured, happened on Dunley Road at about 3.20pm yesterday (Sunday May 18).

All three were travelling in a black Volkswagon Golf they which is believed to have left the road and overturned while overtaking a red VW Golf.

The 19-year-old victims were from Brierley Hill and Quarry Bank - but they have not yet been named.

The Brierley Hill man was a rear seat passenger in the black Golf - and he was pronounced dead on arrival at Worcester Royal Hospital.

The Quarry Bank teen was a front seat passenger and was taken to Birmingham's Selly Oak Hospital where he died at about midnight.

The 20-year-old Stourbridge man, who was driving the black car, suffered serious chest injuries and is in a stable condition at Coventry's Walsgrave Hospital.

A fourth passenger in the black Golf, an 18-year-old man from Netherton, was taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for a check-up - but was discharged after treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle, the red Golf, an 18-year-old man from Brierley Hill, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail, pending further inquiries.

The road was closed for about five hours following the smash - and police are now appealing for witnesses.

Pc Andy Saunders, of the North Worcestershire Road Policing Unit, said: "This was a terrible tragedy which has left two young men dead and another seriously injured.

"Although we have a number of witnesses, we are keen to speak to anyone else who saw the collision or saw either vehicle shortly before the collision.

"We don't want people to assume that others will ring in. Each piece of information could be vital to us in piecing together what happened."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Saunders on 08457 444888.
