A 33-YEAR-OLD Sedgley man has been handed a suspended prison sentence after stealing lead flashing from a Sedgley church.
Appearing in Dudley Magistrates Court on October 15, Paul David Welch, of Corve View, was jailed for 20 weeks suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £1,500 compensation and £85 court costs, for stealing £4,000 worth of lead flashing from All Saints Church on September 6.
Also in court on October 15:
- David William George, aged 25, of Mayfield Road, Dudley, was fined £75 and ordered to pay £300 compensation as well as £15 costs and £85 court costs, for driving without insurance.
The defendant was also fined £100 and handed six licence penalty points, for failing to stop after an accident.
- Aaron Richard Oakley, aged 33, of Hermit Street, Upper Gornal, was fined £100 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, for being drunk and disorderly.
In court on October 8:
- Ryan Jonathan Richards, aged 25, of Cromwell Drive, Dudley, was fined £73, ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, for possessing cannabis.
In court on October 11:
- Edward Ian Trevor Nelson, aged 18, of Poplar Crescent, Dudley, was handed a 12-month community order and a restraining order, as well as being ordered to pay £1,000 compensation, for causing £2,000 damage to household items.
In court on October 12:
- Christopher James Rose, aged 27, of Norwood Road, Brockmoor, was fined £65, ordered to pay £15 and £85 court costs, for possessing a class B drug.
- Paul Whibley, aged 45, of Fens Crescent, Pensnett, was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 court costs, for stealing four joints of beef.
- Zafar Iqbal, aged 37, of Highfield Road, Dudley, was jailed for 12 weeks consecutive, for stealing deodorants from Home Bargains.
The defendant was also jailed for 12 weeks concurrent for stealing medication from Boots.
He was also jailed for six weeks concurrent, for stealing fragrance from Boots.
- Luke James Rollinson, aged 18, of Wood Road, Lower Gornal, was handed a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £80 court costs for interfering with a vehicle.
- Alahigi Barrow, aged 43, of Ivanhoe Street, Dudley, was handed a 12-month community order and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 court costs, for assault.
The defendant was also handed a 12-month community order and ordered to pay £100 compensation for damaging a mobile phone.
In court on October 16:
- Phillip A Bailey, aged 37, of Blewitt Street, Pensnett, was fined £60 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £40 court costs, as well as being handed three licence penalty points, for driving with a rear offside tyre which had low tread.
- Thomas Allan Barnett, aged 24, of Marriott Road, Netherton, was fined £50 for driving without insurance.
The defendant was also fined £50 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being disqualified from driving for six months, for driving without due care and attention.
He was also fined £50 for failing to report an accident.
- Tiffany Lea Piddington, aged 20, of Surrey Road, Dudley, was fined £500 and ordered to pay £75 compensation, £15 costs and £395 costs, for allowing household rubbish to be taken away by an unauthorized person.
- Gurnam Singh Nazran, aged 47, of Ivanhoe Street, Dudley, was fined £110 and ordered to pay £20 costs and £85 court costs, for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
The defendant was also fined £73 for resisting a police officer.
In court on October 17:
- Asif Mohammed, aged 27, of Oxford Street, Dudley, was fined £500 for driving without insurance.
The defendant was also jailed for eight weeks suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being disqualified from driving for 12 months, for driving while disqualified.
In court on October 18:
- Jon Dominic Thomas Hanson, aged 24, of Bluebell Road, Dudley, was given a 12-month community order for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
The defendant was also handed a 12-month community order and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £150 court costs, for assault.
- Nathan Luke Neill, aged 23, of Crossley Street, Netherton, was jailed for 16 weeks suspended for 18 months and ordered to pay £100 compensation, for assault.
- Shane A Whyte, aged 32, of Highgate Road, Holly Hall, was handed an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £750 costs, for using wireless telegraphy apparatus, for the purpose of making a broadcast without a licence.
The defendant was also handed an 18-month conditional discharge for allowing an unlawful broadcast to take place in the above premises.
He was also handed an 18- month conditional discharge for making a literary work, which he understood to be an unauthorized broadcast.
In court on October 19:
- Deno Rober t Junior Salmon, aged 27, of Blowers Green Crescent, Dudley, was fined £100 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £65 court costs, as well as being disqualified from driving for 12 months, for driving without insurance.
- Shahzad Azam, aged 29, of Windmill View, Dudley, was fined £120 and ordered to pay £20 costs and £85 court costs, for possessing cannabis resin.
- Phillip Jon Lloyd, aged 25, of Brookdale, Lower Gornal, was fined £100 and ordered to pay £15 costs, as well as being disqualified from driving for 12 months, for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
The defendant was also fined £100 for driving without insurance.
He was also fined £50 for driving a vehicle he was not licensed to drive.
- Lee Walker-Wright, aged 50, of Peak Drive, Lower Gornal, was fined £100 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being handed six licence penalty points, for driving without insurance.
The defendant was also fined £60 for wilfully obstructing a police officer.
