THE manager of a Dudley’s Cancer Support has raised £430 and extra awareness for men’s health during a month-long hairy campaign.
Chris Barron, who heads up the White House, took on the challenge of growing facial hair for the national Movember campaign to raise funds and awareness for the two main male cancers – prostate and testicular.
Chris who is usually always clean-shaven, said: “I can put up with the general itchiness and discomfort but I was glad to put an end to 30 days of stick and abuse about the lack of my facial hair.”
During the four-week challenge to raise funds for Movember, Chris also helped boost the coffers of The White House, raising £236 for the Ednam Road charity and £194 for Movember.
Chris added: “It was an experience, but I don’t know if I’ll repeat it, but it was great to raise awareness and money for such important causes, which makes it all worth it.”
