CHRISTMAS has come early at a Sedgley church as it hosts a literary themed Christmas Tree Festival over the next two weekends.

All Saints’ Church in Vicar Street is hosting the festival from Friday (December 7) until Sunday and then again the following Friday December 14 through to Sunday December 16.

Based around a theme of ‘Tell me a Story’ 21 trees have been decorated by church groups and Sedgley businesses and traders, each depicting a different classical tale on their trees, including The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Harry Potter, Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland and Little Woman.

The church will be open from 10am until 4pm on Friday and Saturdays and from 1pm until 4pm on the Sundays and will be launched in style this Friday with school choir performances from 10.30am until 12pm.

Admission is free and refreshments will be available, with all donations raised donated to Bible- Lands, a charity which works to improve the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the Middle East.
