A 42 YEAR-old Dudley man is set to be appear in court today charged with attempted murder after a woman was left with serious burns to her face and neck following a house fire.
The incident happened at a property in Haden Walk, Rowley Regis in the early hours of December 2, when 31 year-old Louise Pilkington was taken to hospital following an attack on her home.
On arrival of the emergency services, they found the injured 31 year-old in the front garden, miraculously, her 12-year-old daughter and 13-month old baby were rescued unharmed from the blaze.
A 42 year-old man was arrested later that same day, but has been in hospital being treated with scorch injuries.
Earlier this morning, officers charged him with attempted murder and arson with intent to endanger life and he is due to appear before Sandwell magistrates later today.
