Air ambulance seeks new fundraisers and volunteers
8:00am Friday 4th January 2013 in News
MIDLANDS Air Ambulance is urging people planning to do more fitness and fundraising activities in 2013 to support the charity and help keep lifesaving medics in the skies.
The charity, which needs to raise £6million each year to keep flying, is seeking new volunteers and fundraisers to take part in its packed programme of events lined up for this year to help pull in the pounds.
Sponsored events organised for 2013 include a walk along Hadrian’s Wall and a Sahara Desert trek.
People are also invited to plan their own fundraising activities to help give a boost to the charity which receives no government or lottery funding.
A spokesman for the Midlands Air Ambulance said: “The 2013 MAAC events diary is bursting at the seams - there is something planned to suit every age and ability.
“Whether its running, cycling, walking, free falling or abseiling - the list of ways to get involved is endless.
“However, if those challenges sound like too much physical hard work - and jumping out of a plane sounds more frightening than fun - then there’s always a relaxing game of golf, a valuation day or our summer gala ball.
“Do something amazing in 2013 - help save lives.”
