8:20am Thursday 17th January 2013 in News
DUDLEY residents will have their chance to quiz the new Police and Crime Commissioner when he holds his first surgery in the borough.
Bob Jones, newly elected Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands, will hold his first public surgery along with his Deputy, Councillor Yvonne Mosquito, tomorrow (Friday, January 18) at Dudley Council House at 6.30pm.
During a recent visit, the commissioner heard how crime continues to fall in the borough. He was updated on the strong partnership working that takes place through safe and sound, Dudley’s community safety partnership, helping Dudley remain one of the safest boroughs in the region.
Councillor Judy Foster, cabinet member responsible for community safety, said: “In Dudley we’re looking forward to working closely with the commissioner to drive down crime even further, helping our residents feel safer.
“I’m pleased the first surgery will be held in our borough and I would encourage residents to take this as an opportunity to engage with the commissioner and have their say on his priorities.”
Commissioner Bob Jones, said: “While a phone call is often the most convenient way to make contact, it doesn’t suit everyone, and so the surgery gives people the opportunity for members of the public to meet with me and Councillor Mosquito and have their say.”
