New option to lower council tax payments

DUDLEY residents are being offered a way of lowering their monthly council tax payments.
From April this year, Dudley Council is offering householders and businesses the chance to spread out the monthly payment cost option to 12 months instead of the usual 10 months.
Councillor Pete Lowe, cabinet member for finance, said: “We recognise the difficulties taxpayers’ and businesses face, which is why we will be giving them the option to spread their payments over a longer period of time.
“This change will lower the average monthly payment for a Band B property in Dudley by over £16 per month.”
Anyone would like to change their payment plan to 12 months can sign up at dudley.gov.uk or call the council tax and business rates helpline on 0300 555 8000.
