AN elderly man has died after a crash involving a skip lorry in Brierley Hill earlier today (Wednesday).
The man, a pedestrian, was confirmed dead at Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley, after the incident which happened at the junction of High Street, Bank Street and Level Street, near Brierley Hill Police Station at around 1.30pm.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Police were alerted by witnesses and they immediately began CPR on the pedestrian.
"On their arrival, ambulance personnel took over. Sadly the man was confirmed dead at Russells Hall Hospital.”
The driver of the lorry, believed to be in his 50s, was treated for shock and was also taken to Russells Hall Hospital.
The busy road junction remains closed to traffic while crash investigators are at the scene.
Any witnesses to the incident are asked to call police on 101.
