Final deadline looming for Civic Awards nominations
8:30am Monday 11th February 2013 in News
Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Melvyn Mottram urges people to get their nominations in this week
THERE is just a week left for residents to nominate their community heroes in the Mayor’s Civic Awards.
There are five categories all named after the borough greats to choose from, which have each been sponsored by a borough business.
These include the Duncan Edwards award for sport, the Cedric Hardwicke award for arts, the Frank Foley award for community spirit, the Thomas Attwood award for education and the William Shenstone award for environment.
Nominations must be in by Monday (February 18) with a judging panel choosing winners and runners-up, who will be presented with a trophy and certificate at a civic reception next month.
People can put forward those they feel are worthy of the award by filling in the form set to be printed in this week’s paper and e-edition and posting it using the freepost address stated.
Nominations can also be submitted online and via Dudley Council’s twitter and facebook pages.
