Help clean-up Alder Coppice Woods this Saturday

RESIDENTS are invited to help clear up Alder Coppice Woods on Saturday.

The event which is taking place from 10am until 1pm is being run by Dudley Council’s park team, in a bid to make the woods safer for people and wildlife.

Wardens from Cotwall End Valley nature reserve will also be on hand to teach some woodland coppicing techniques.

Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:  “Our wardens do a great job of making our green spaces welcoming, and the woodland day is a chance to find out more about how they work and the range of wildlife that make the woods their home.”

Volunteers should meet at the Swallowfields site entrance. Outdoor clothing and shoes are recommended.
