Take a ramble around a reserve this month
9:00am Saturday 2nd March 2013 in News
RESIDENTS can take a ramble around some of the borough’s nature reserves this month.
A six-mile walk around Fens Pool, Brierley Hill, will take place on Thursday, March 21 from 10am until 1.30pm.
The walk, which will cross the River Stour, will also take people across open countryside and woodland, before returning back to Fens Pool.
Walkers should meet at the wardens’ office at the Dell Stadium, at the junction of Bryce Road and Pensnett Road and bookings can be made by calling 01384 812780.
Meanwhile on Saturday, March 30, the Friends of Cotwall End Valley will be hosting a spring flower walk from 2pm until 4pm.
Participants should meet on the Brockswood Animal Sanctuary Car Park, off Catholic Lane. Bumble Hole volunteers will also be laying on activities for children at the Bumble Hole Visitor Centre at Windmill End on Easter Sunday (March 31) including Easter basket and chocolate nest making.
The session runs from 10am until 2pm and all children must be supervised by an adult.
To book a place call the visitor centre on 01384 814100.
Residents are advised the walks contain steep slopes and steps and are unsuitable for pushchairs and walkers should wear suitable footwear.
