DUDLEY Asian Women’s Network organised a day of female orientated activities to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The event, at St Thomas’s Community Network in Beechwood Road, promoted women’s health and wellbeing, with visitors given the opportunity for a bit of pampering as a number of beauty treatments were on offer, including threading, nail art and henna.
As well as treatments, women were able to tuck into Asian food and purchase clothes and jewellery, with some even trying their hand at belly dancing.
Shahida Parveen, development advice worker, said: “The event went really well and we had about 140 visitors, including a few men, to help us celebrate all things women.”
Dudley Asian Women’s Network (DAWN) was established over 20 years ago to provide services for the borough’s Asian women who are experiencing social isolation or disadvantage.
