THE Dudley and district branch of Parkinson's UK has been celebrating after a cash handout from a Stourbridge supermarket.

The group scooped £564 from Waitrose's Community Matters fund to help fund their work supporting people and ther families affected by the diease.

Parkinson’s is a degenerative neurological condition and there is currently no cure.

Jackie Murrall, branch and volunteer support officer from Parkinson’s UK, said: “We are delighted to receive such a generous donation from Waitrose. The funds will help improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s. Our work is totally dependent on donations."

The branch is currenty looking for a new chairperson after the retirement of Eva Evans who held the post for 21 years.
