FORMER detective superintendent Roger Clayton has been appointed chairman of Dudley’s Safeguarding Adults and Children’s Boards.

Mr Clayton, who has now retired from the police force, will provide direction and guidance to both boards who are charged with reducing the risk of harm to children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Dudley born and bred Mr Clayton served West Midlands Police for over 20 years and was involved with both child and vulnerable adult protection plus domestic abuse.

Each board meets between four to six times a year to make sure all agencies are working together to protect vulnerable children and adults from abuse.

Mr Clayton said: “Keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe must always be an absolute priority for everyone.

“The best way for that to succeed is for all the agencies to work closely together.”
