FRIENDS of the man killed by a lorry in Quarry Bank are rallying together to cover the cost of his funeral.
The 26-year-old, named locally as Sartaj Aziz, was hit by a HGV in Thorns Road just after 3.30pm on Tuesday (August 20).
A Facebook page has since been set up by his friends to raise funds for his funeral, which it is claimed may cost up to £3,400.
Donations, which are being made via PayPal, have already reached £1,080.
Any money left over will be given to his family.
The author of the page said: “I would like to thank those that have paid in to the fund for Taj so far we have not raised a great amount. He deserves a good send off .“ Tributes have also been paid on the social network site.
