DUDLEY is set for a jobs boost with the opening of a new 63-bedroom hotel and restaurant on Castlegate Business Park.
The new Premier Inn on the park will create around 25 new jobs, £3.8m in funding for the project was provided by Custodian Capital in return for Premier Inn committing to a 20 year lease.
The building was completed on time and by property specialists Stoford and West Bromwich building contractor Anglo Holt.
Dan Gallagher, joint managing director of Stoford, said: “Premier Inn is one of the UK’s top brands and most successful businesses. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to deliver such a high profile development.”
Simon Garland, financial director of Anglo Holt, added: “Castlegate Business Park is an ideal location for the new hotel as there is excellent access by road and many entertainment facilities nearby.
“The timber frame building features a new format for the hotel chain and incorporates public art.”
John Bates, head of acquisitions UK and Ireland for Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants said the company, which is set to open a new hotel in Stourbridge, was aiming for a total of 75,000 bedrooms by 2018 in the UK.
The new hotel is Stoford’s second project at Castlegate Business Park where it has now started building a 10,000sq ft development for the Staffordshire and West Midlands Probation Trust.
