Men remanded in custody over Wodsetton raid
12:14pm Tuesday 3rd September 2013 in News
TWO men have appeared in court in connection with the robbery of a Woodsetton widow's treasured memento of her husband.
Dudley magistrates remanded Richard Howell aged 37, from Carder Crescent, Bilston and Ross Underwood, 28, from Damson Wharf, Tipton, in custody to re appear at Wolverhampton Crown Crown in November to face five allegations of conspiracy to rob.
Among the charges is an alleged raid on August 29 in Fox Street, Woodsetton, where a 52-year-old widow was robbed of her late husband's watch, a gold Swiss Ebel with a cream face which cops are keen to recover.
Dc Darren Brown has renewed a police appeal to trace its whereabouts. He said: "The watch is very distinctive as it has been made smaller to fit a woman's wrist. It holds extreme sentimental value for the family.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have been offered the watch for sale to contact police as soon as possible."
Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
