Three-on-a-bike teen airlifted after crash in Dudley

A TEENAGER believed to be on a bicycle with two other boys escaped serious injury after a crash in Dudley.
The 13-year-old was airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital after an incident on Wrens Nest Road just before 4.55pm yesterday (September 25).
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a bmx bike and a car. The bike was reportidly carrying three boys at the time of the incident
“On arrival at the scene, crews found one of the boys lying in the road with bystanders providing first aid.
“The boy was treated for a potentially serious head injury and a laceration to his chin. He was fully immobilised and conveyed in the land ambulance to an awaiting air ambulance, which had landed on a nearby school field.
“A second boy who had sustained a knee injury was treated and discharged by an advanced paramedic at the scene."
The boy remains in hospital this morning with minor injuries.
