Poetry competition open to borough residents
5:00pm Thursday 31st October 2013 in News
CREATIVE borough residents stand to win £1,000 if they enter a national poetry competition.
The competition, organised by United Press, aims to get people's creative juices flowing and encourage them to pen a poem about the town in which they live.
The best poem will win £1,000 cash.
A United Press spokesman said: “We find that poems written from personal observation and experience are the most heartfelt and expressive, so we’re expecting some great entries. The contest is designed to encourage ordinary people to write poetry – to both express themselves and be more creative.”
The closing date is December 31.
Entrants can submit up to three poems, which must be no more than 25 lines and 160 words each.
Poems can be submitted by email to email@example.com or post to United Press Ltd, Admail 3735, London, EC1B 1JB.
