THOSE looking to rent properties with two or more bedrooms in Dudley are being urged to get in touch with the council’s housing services.
Following the introduction of welfare reforms, Dudley Council now has a number of flats and maisonettes in Dudley, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Halesowen and Sedgley and include houses, flats and maisonettes, from as little as £69 per week, depending on the property type.
Councillor Steve Waltho, cabinet member for housing and community safety, said: “Renting a property directly from Dudley Council provides potential residents with an ideal, cost saving opportunity, compared to privately rented accommodation – which means these properties are ideal for anyone who is struggling to keep up private rental payments.
“Tenants also have the assurance of knowing that repairs, maintenance and service charges are included in the rental. I would encourage anyone who is interested in renting a two or three bedroom property give us a call first.”
This scheme is not exclusive to borough residents, people from outside of the borough can also contact the council to express an interest by calling 01384 814183 or sending an email to nowaithomes@dudley.gov.uk
